Reviews

This book takes a unique approach by telling the story of diabetes through the lens of high-performance athletes. Using stories directly from people with diabetes is inspiring, and the expert commentary from the authors is highly informative.

Back when I started in the diabetes and exercise world, examples of athletes with type 1 diabetes were few and far between. Since the advent of technologies that help people monitor and manage blood glucose levels, the number of athletes succeeding and excelling with diabetes has increased vastly, and many people with diabetes will be inspired by these stories.

Winning with Diabetes isn't just supremely inspirational...it is also highly educational. The well-placed 'Expert Commentaries' supplied by the authors help the reader understand and apply the experiences of the book's prominent subjects. A great read for everyone with diabetes!

Winning with Diabetes expertly showcases the determination of a group of athletes who maintained their competitive edge in the sports they loved despite type 1 diabetes, proving diabetes doesn't mean the end of the road for your ambitions and can even be a fundamental factor in your success.
