Reviews
Nabhan masterfully simplifies the science, controversies, and complexity of cancer for patients and their loved ones. Through storytelling, humility, and armed with 20-year experience in oncology, he takes the reader through the cancer journey from A to Z, separating facts from myths. His ability to communicate is commendable, making this book a must read for anyone interested in this topic.
A very valuable resource for anyone impacted by cancer. Written by an oncologist, the book provides a unique perspective and offers practical advice about important, sometimes difficult to navigate topics including communication, second opinions, treatment decisions, and supporting loved ones. It includes information about cancer causes, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. No matter where along the journey one may be, the book spans the cancer care continuum providing helpful insights and guidance for all.
Compelling and educational. Dr. Nabhan's work is a thoughtful 'how-to' guide that should be required reading for all interested in cancer. His approach is humble and honest, poignantly highlighting the potential exponential impact to people's lives by prioritizing the patient & care partner voice. A must-read to the end—my favorite chapters are the last three.
Nabhan, a gifted clinician researcher, shares his in-depth knowledge in the field and his genuine talent in communicating to benefit cancer patients and their families. Each chapter is a gem written with clarity and a heartfelt humanity. This book will become the gold standard reference for all challenged with cancer.
Many people try not to think too much about cancer unless they are forced to confront it. When they do, they are often overwhelmed with information and the weight of the decisions they must make. Chadi Nabhan has written an excellent guide with authority and tenderness. It can really help a lot of people.
