What a month it has been. The heat of summer may be on its way out, but our authors are on fire. Here’s a look at the September media highlights:
The Sting of the Wild (HC: 9781421419282; $24.95) author Justin Schmidt was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE (including a rather funny mention in Jimmy’s opening
Johns Hopkins Magazine ran a feature story around Chickenizing Farms & Food (HC: 9781421420301; $26.95) by Ellen Silbergeld. The Takeaway w/ John Hockenberry and local Baltimore/WYPR show The Environment in Focus also interviewed Silbergeld. Last but not least, the September issue of Science has a very nice review which ends with this quote, “Little doubt exists that meat production is fraught with problems. After reading Silbergeld’s book, my next visit to the farmer’s market will be a more enlightened one.”
Laura Kahn, author of One Health (PB: 9781421420042; $30.00) was interviewed by Science Friday.
Diploma Mills (HC: 9781421420073; $29.95) author A.J. Angulo was interviewed for pieces in TIME Magazine, MarketWatch, and Business Insider. The book was also reviewed by the New York Review of Books. Angulo has been quoted recently by Slate, Gawker, The New York Times, and Financial Times. He also recently authored a piece for The Guardian.
The Notorious Mrs. Clem (HC: 9781421420202; $34.95) was reviewed by true crime blogger Ann Marie Ackerman. The book was also recently covered in the Indy Star.
A video went live featuring the new Folger Library exhibit, Will & Jane: Shakespeare, Austen and the Cult of Celebrity, which was curated by JHUP authors Janine Barchas (Matters of Fact in Jane Austen, PB 9781421411910) and Kristina Straub (Domestic Affairs, HB 9780801890499). The video was produced by the University of Texas (where Janine teaches); the exhibit runs until November 6.

Henry Segerman produced an excellent book trailer for Visualizing Mathematics with 3D Printing (HC: 9781421420356; $70).
